"If you like it so much, why don't you stay there!" yowled Alaska, a big tom that lived with Fern. Cherry was fairly sure he had a crush on Fern, and Cherry knew Fern had a crush on him. Fern looked hurt. " As I was saying, I felt like I could stay there, but all the cats looked so fierce, even Cloudpelt and Streamheart!" Cloud joined the ravine cats along with Stream, his mate." I never want to be like that, and besides, how can I leave my three best friends?" Fern walked up to Alaska and nuzzled him. "I love you Alaska, I hope you know that." Alaska looked surprised, then happy, then he nuzzled back. " I love you to, Fern." Cherry looked at the pair, than looked wistfully at Max. To her surprise, Max was staring at her! She turned away blushing, and when he waved her over with his tail, she fallowed.
